Hey all! I know this is a simple mapquest question, but upon looking at a map I see that US-64 is a more straight route, and also avoids Greensboro.

I am picking someone up from the Charlotte airport on the Friday, July 3rd, so this is why I worry, because I have to be back to Raleigh that night for work!

About how long does it take (realistically) from downtown Raleigh to the Charlotte airport? Google map says almost 3 hours, but my friend told me 2.

Thanks!

Almost 3 hours. And take the interstate - its faster than 64.

I went to Ikea from DT Raleigh a while back and it took me about 2 hours 15 minutes. I am guessing that it's at least another 15 minutes to the airport.
Not to worry about Greensboro, I-40 goes around it and you don't even feel like you are anywhere near it.

it takes me bout 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 to get to my parents from tryon/gorman area & parents live(close to matthews) beyond the charlotte airport...so would not be that long...and also 85 has been open for awhile so you bypass greensboro ...

It takes me 2.5 hours to get to Charlotte when I pass through from DT Raleigh (I go a max of 5 miles above the speed limit). Expect traffic to be a little heavier since it's a holiday weekend.

I also go about 5-8 mph above the speed limit (lead foot) also. Thanks all, I appreciate the advice!
