I am moving to Holly Spings in a few weeks and my husband and I plan on trying for our 2nd child pretty soon afterwards. Does anyone have any recommendations of OB/GYNs in the area? Preferably one who is willing to let you try a VBAC. Also, can anyone shed light on the best hospitals in the area to deliver at? That way I can make sure the OB has privileges there. Thank you.

You may also want to contact the local ICAN chapter. There is a yahoo group- Ican of Raleigh, I believe.

I had my VBAC at UNC with UNC FP. UNC is very VBAC friendly.

University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Family Practice. That is where I go! I am pregnant with my first!

Also, it is said that the FP MDs take a mix of approaches of your typical OB/Gyns and midwifery practices.

Hi. Sorry about that. It is UNC Family Practice. Here is their website:

Congrats! UNC Family Practice is good, so are the Midwives at UNC. If you want to be a little closer, I would try Triangle OB, they are out of Wake Med Cary--ask to see the midwives, they are always better at going for a more natural birth.
If you need a class, try TriangleChildbirth - Offering Bradley Method Childbirth classes..
I would stick with the practices I mentioned to have the best odds for your VBAC.
Good luck!

Smile The BEST

Go see Dr. Tahtawi at Total Woman Total Health in Waverly Place. Its right behind Whole Foods in Cary. She is fantastic! I have lived in the area for over 16 years and have been through many doctors, I have finally found my ob.gyn!
