I am reloacating to Cary in the next few weeks. I'm 27 years old and am looking to see if there are any dance schools recommended for adults. I'm interested in either beginner or intermediate classes. (Hip-hop, jazz, tap, ballet)

Thank you all so much!

Raleigh School of Ballet has an adult division, as well as Legacy Studios in Durham, Barriskill in Durham, and Triangle Youth Academy in chapel hill. These are mainly for Ballet, and Ninth Street Dance in Durham for adult recreational dance classes of all different kinds.

Point of reference. I am turning 27 this week and will be starting ballet for the first time this fall! hehe, it wont be pretty, but it should be fun!
Good luck to you.

I took a beginning (tap) class at the NC Dance Institute, on Duraleigh Rd (Raleigh). But, their definition of "adult" at the time was "13 and older", so I was in a class with a lot of teenagers, which made me very self-conscious (I was 40...also being the only male there).

When you check with places, call and ask what constitutes "Adult" and whether they have "18 and older" classes. I liked the NC Dance Institute, both the teachers and the owner, but I won't take any more classes there that aren't strictly "adult".
