Anyone have any more updated information about this neighborhood and its continued viability? Last posts on this forum mentioning it are from 2007.

My wife and I were there a few weeks ago while in town looking for homes, and were curious why there is only one occupied home of the 8 or 9 already built homes (that have apparently been there since 2007 or early 2008). Or maybe that speaks for itself . . . ?

Thanks!

Great location. Definitely. Well, not on the quarry side, maybe.
Wrong price and product?
Wrong lot sizes for the price?
No level ground or lots in the entire subdivision?

You pick...

With this one I think it may have just been timing. The collapse hit before they'd sold inventory and now they are stuck in a rut

"Timing" can have an interesting catalyst.

Rumor has it there was a little disagreement between developer and builders that significantly delayed construction.

So Mike, what is your best guess as to the future of the entire neighborhood/concept?

I don't think the location will deteriorate.
And that area is one of my favorite local areas, outside the beltline between Rex Hospital and Umstead Park.
