A pizza joint can turn on a dime, and go sour in no time flat.
Consistency is wonderful if you can find it in any food service.

Tried a pizza from Fuhgeddaboudit last week, very good! Not sure if it's the best overall, but it probably has the best crust I've had on a pizza so far.

Vics Italian in downtown Raleigh (in City Market). Terrific pizza. Very popular place.

I am from Long Island so I know what you mean. I read about this place but haven't tried it yet. If anything, it sounds like a fun place to try:

Sauced Pizza
410 Glenwood Avenue, Suite 350
Raleigh, NC, 27603

P.S. Where are you from upstate - I used to live in Auburn and Syracuse and went to SUNY Geneseo.

Fuhgeddaboudit is very good as well. But speaking to Dominic's, we must have been there over 2 dozen times over the past year and a half and have never had bad food. But I guess any place can have a bad day.

I have a patient here in Michigan(I am two weeks from my final move to Clayton) who owns a series of Jets and every time I have seen him for the last year I have tried to talk him into moving I went to Med School at Wayne State and second the Buddy's opinion too.

There are so many good places for a variety of Midwestern style pizza(thick/thick/thick) around Detroit. Depending on where you visit when you return - try Boodles on the corner of 11mi and Stephenson(Madison Heights side of 75) or Tomato Brothers on Grand River in Howell(West of Town). They aren't your Buddy's style but a good alternative for other moods.

I tried a new place (new to me) today and I think it's the best I've had - Brooklyn Pizzeria, Erwin Road, Durham. It's right near Duke Med.

Brooklyn Pizzeria Inc.
