I have been living in this area for over 2 years now and I have yet to find pizza similar what we have in upstate NY. All there seems to be around here are chain pizzerias. I'm talking about locally owned pizzerias but not NY style pizza with the thin crust. Is there anything like that around here?

I've heard it's hard to find good pizza in Raleigh. Granted, this info came from a guy from Chicago to my fiance who is from Chicago. But I find New Yorkers are like Chicagians when it comes to their pizza. Two totally different styles of course, but there's nothing like their home town pizza. So for you New Yorkers, I hope you have better luck than my friends from Chicago.

We ate there twice then found dominic's. We prefer dominics - if you haven't checked it out yet you might want to.

You must be kidding. There are more than a few locally owned pizzerias. I like Bella Italia like the previous poster. There are many threads on this topic with many other places listed all over the Triangle.

ugh, gross! nasty pizza here. i wrote about my experiences ordering a slice of Sicilian for lunch on yahoo local (http://local.yahoo.com/info-33056707...eviews#reviews). they are not passionate about their pizza, and i shows in the poor quality product they serve.

I never had a problem with Dominics. I thought it was decent pizza and it was my choice when I lived in NE Raleigh.
