Before we moved to this area from Indianapolis Indiana in 2007 we had developed a love affair with a chain of Take and Bake Pizza restaurants in the area called Papa Murphy's.

I was sad to leave them behind when we moved as there were none in this area. Recently I read an article in the paper that they built one in Cary and one in Apex with several more (10-14) slated to be built around the area in the next few years.

Does anybody know if there are any Papa Murphy's slated to be built in or around Knightdale? I would be a happy camper....now that we have a Krispy Kreme here life would be great with a Papa Murphy's!

The same franchise owner actually has signed on to do 14 just himself.

Try calling one of the 2 existing stores and you may just catch the owner! Haven't tried them yet.

Wow...14 for one person is a lot of stores to take on!

I'm not an expert on Pizza but I will say that we always found them to be delicious and affordable - much more affordable than Pizza Hut or Papa Johns.

THANK YOU for posting this! I was under the impression that I'd left Papa Murphy's behind (along with Meijer) when we left IL earlier this year. I LOVE their pizzas. I was always buying several at a time to put in the freezer to have whenever I wanted. Now to just get Meijer here and I'll be a happier transplant :-)

We moved from the South side of Indy in 2007 (Greenwood)

I have not regreted the move for a moment since we made it. Apart from missing some of the people we left behind we LOVE this area.

Great weather (mild winters and little snow) but still have 4 seasons, lots of family activities and things to do, close to downtown but still small-town community (we live in Knightdale) and close to the ocean and mountains.

One of the best choices I ever made!

I think it's great that so many people love this but I was pretty disappointed in our first try. Your basic pepperoni pizza. One of the things I remember was an abundance of grease. Yeah, I know it's pizza but I remember taking a napkin and dabbing it off. There is at least one Frozen brand I think I like better (Palmero's). I am willing to give it another try, there has to be something to it, everyone seems to love them!

Try the chicken garlic pizza (if they still have it) - it was one of our favorites.

We also loved the stuffed pizza and the taco pizza.

I moved to Cary from Minnesota recently and after being here a while and trying all of the pizza places that my boyfriend liked, I wanted pizza that tasted like home. I found the one in Cary on the Papa Murphy's website and my boyfriend relented and tried it out. He didn't care too much for the plain pizza's but liked the stuffed pizzas. It is not nearly as greasy as a pepperoni pizza (even though there is pepperoni in it.)

Just make sure your strong enough to put it in and take it out of the oven. I always seem to drop the stuffed pizza on the floor because it is so heavy.

It is interesting though because I feel similar to you in not understanding why something is so popular. I have tried ZPizza several times now and I just don't "get" why people go out of their way for one. Maybe I am just not picking the right kind of pizza when we go there to eat.

We also are not a fan of ZPizza. We tried it on several occasions but just don't like the taste or texture of the cheese.

As for Papa Murphy's.....make sure you get some chocolate chip cookie dough! We used to get it all the time in CA and it was so good....and most of the time we ate it without cooking it (I know I know not the safest thing to do...but it was sooo good!)
