ME³ is a local organization that will assist you in finding opportunities. Volunteer Match is a good website, but ME³ will talk with the volunteer and help match you to a local organization based on your interests. It's free. Welcome to ME³ - Volunteer and Help Out Causes in Wake County, North Carolina

Thanks for the tip ntchanga - Volunteer Match is fine, but I know there are loads of local organizations that just aren't listed on there, don't regularly update needs, etc.

I don't know where you live, but DurhamCares is a great volunteer matching organization. You fill out a survey online and then set-up a call with a volunteer match coordinator. They ask you several questions and within 2-3 weeks, they send you volunteer opportunities that match your skills and interests. Here's the website:Home | DurhamCares
