I found a used car the wife likes and need to have it checked out by a mechanic before I buy it.

Can anyone suggest a mechanic for this in the Morrisville area?

Thanks

D

Frantz Automotive on Chatham St. in Cary, just west of downtown. Reasonable, thorough, honest. Used them 4 times for pre-and post purchase inspections. And all my service needs.

Council Auto Repair at the corner of High House and Davis Drive. They have a dirt road entrance from either street. Their phone is 467-4872.

Gastons Garage in Apex. I took my car to get inspected at a place other than Gastons and they said I needed a whole list of things done to my car including new tires. The funny thing was that they were new tires, so I knew at that moment that the other shop was trying to rip me off. I took my car to Gastons and they were completely honest and said that not even a 1/4 of the things written on the sheet needed to be done and that I certainly didn't need new tires. They were honest and even laughed about it like I did. We have been taking our cars there from that point forward and have really been impressed with the honesty.

Atlantic Tire and Auto on Maynard in Cary. Probably 1/3 less the price than Franz Automotive (Atlantic has been 1/3 less $$ on the mechanical work I've had quoted).
