Okay - well, if no damage really, then I may just let these disgustingly large suckers live. I don't garden - the back yard really is for the dogs. Learn something everyday - I'm from MI and they just don't come that big up there!

They appear on my house at times when I take the dog out at night. But they don't seem to bother anything. My first encounter was more of the size..lol. I've seen them here and there while living in NJ but not that big!

There are 2 types of pellets/bait at the garden store.
One kind is poisonous to pets but the other kind says it is
safe to use around pets.

As long as they stay on the outside and I stay on the inside from dark to dawn I am OK with them. They never hurt anything around my yard that I am aware of. They are big in Wake Forest for sure but the spiders 'bug' me more!

The spiders are abundant, aren't they? I don't mind them so much, but do mind the webs that I can't seem to keep from accumulating on the outside corners of my house.

Very cool. My kids would love to see them. Ours aren't nearly as big.

Yep this is the time of the year for them. Ground webs and hanging webs all over. They are big, big, and bigger too! Always know Halloween is not far away when I see all the webs around.

We have lots of those big slugs in my front and back yard. When I take the dog out in the morning to do her business, I see them heading for cover, so I pick them up with the poop bag and off they go to the trash. They decimated my flowers and landscape. they even go up the sides ofthe house to the 2nd level, up the sides of pots and eat up my potted plants. I saw one huge one that raised some sort of hood over its "neck" -- it looked so intimidating!!! They are also in the irrigation boxes and hanging around my crawlspace door. Nasty, nasty.

I'm in N. Raleigh, not far from Wake Forest.
