It is not necessary to buy an expensive piano for someone who has just started learning. As progress as a musician you will develop and ear that will truly understand the timbre of a piano. At the point in the musicians career it is then relevant to purchase a quality piano. http://www.frankholdermusic.com/
If you are still interested, I have a 5'2" Weber baby grand in excellent condition. The piano is my son's and he has played it with much joy for nearly 18 years. It was purchased new and has been taken care of with great pride ever since. Life changes for a 24 year-old and despite adoring the instrument, he needs the money to start a new life. Great tears well up with the thought of it going away, but if we thought it was going to a great home with someone who would treat her with the gentleness that my son has given, he would be happy and I would be happy.
We've seen this model anywhere from $5000-10,000 used. We bought it during a big sale years ago in Atlanta and even then paid $14,500 for it. If you'd like to come see it to make us a fair offer, we'd be happy to let your child play it. My son has a dealer who represents a couple piano stores who wants to come look at it but we'd rather know it's going to a good home!

I have several pianos on craigslist recently for free.
