We went to Prime Smokehouse in Garner over the weekend and it was so, so good! I wanted to share; if you guys are in the mood for some Texas style BBQ, Brisket, yummy wings and ribs go there. The mac and cheese was like Grandma's. I'm normally an eastern NC BBQ girl, but this was really good. It's in the Lowe's Foods shopping center at the corner of Aversboro and Timber. We stopped by with the kids in the afternoon and will be back in the evening for some good music and food. I was thinking it would be like a Remington Grill type of place where the kids could wind down, but was pleasantly surprised. Here's a link to a review by the N&O. By all means be sure to make it back for live jazz in the evenings.

We went there once and were surprised how "upscale" it was compared to a regular BBQ joint. Not a good place to take young kids. We took our 3 yr old and regretted it big time.

I was glad we took the kids in the afternoon, even then I was ready to get them out of there!

We went there for dinner after work yesterday and were very disappointed. The mac & cheese was great, but the meats were poor quality. The atmosphere was boring. It is simply an open shell in a strip plaza. Loaded with kids on top of that. We won't go back.

The music is better than the food - order wine!
