...and fears about the strawberry crop are unfounded.
They are big, juicy, sweet, and red all the way through!
$4.00/quart, 2 qts/$7.00, and 4 quart basket for $10.00.

And there are a few other goodies to be had.

Asparagus is in.

Yay! So glad that the strawberries are good! I was out there today myself. It's great to see so many people going through there, the farmers really do count on the community to buy from them. So please, instead of always going to your neighborhood Harris Teeter for produce, go to the N.C. Farmer's Market! Plus they have great flowers.

We went to the Farmers market in Carrboro this morning. They, too, have a great market with all the right stuff. There was a nice selection of herbs and the strawberries looked delicious. Where is the NC Farmers Market? Somewhere downtown I imagine? Has anyone been to Durham's FM? Just wondering how it compares to Carrboro.

Is it worth getting to the Farmer's Market early in the morning or do they have enough produce so they don't sell out quickly?

They normally have tons of produce, but go early if you want to avoid crowds. There are many different stands that carry the same produce, and most of them let you sample what they have, so you can decide which is "best". There is one place that bakes really awesome bread and it sells out quickly (it's in the building that houses the "shops"). Otherwise, you're good to go.

The NC Farmer's Market is right off of I-40, take exit 297 and follow the signs (I believe you'd be turning left). They're open 7 days a week but on Sunday they close a little earlier.

Also make sure you try the little seafood market, as well as the NC Farmer's Market restaurant (great breakfast!)

You're in for a real treat. The strawberries here are 4x the size that you are used to getting in the UK.

Nacht, I've lived all over. I've lived in the UK, Switzerland and now MA. I have been here for 20 yrs. I am pretty sure that the produce in NC will be far superior to what I am used to.

Mike I made my way to the Farmers Market myself today for you guessed it....Strawberries. It was really crowded there, and I loved being in the middle of it all. I also go for that homemade soap thats made right here in Raleigh Anders Natural Soap Co.
