How is it? Compared to say, south Cary or Raleigh?

Thanks!

Hmmm....
Trying to remember...I think its like a 20-30 minute drive from Chapel Hill to the airport. From Raleigh (depending on where at) its about a 15-20 minute drive from North Raleigh. From South Cary...I'm going to guess anywhere between 15-30 minutes.

You can take interstate 540 from Raleigh and be at the airport in just a few minutes.

Hope that helps!
(I'm sure someone will correct me if they have more accurate times)

Whoops! You were asking about the commute, not times..sorry, lol.
In the morning, I-40 East (from chapel hill to rdu) does not seem that bad at all. Its mostly from rdu to rtp that builds up, then it kind of evens up a bit to chapel hill.
Of course, I'm talking 7-8 am traffic and after 5 pm.

It's not bad at all except around rush hour, going into the airport. Taking the exit, you will have to wait at that point for 5 to 10 minutes to get to the airport.

Thanks for all the info! I think I don't know how to property ask the question. My DH will need to travel via RDU perhaps once a week, but we are not sure when he will need to go to the airport (as far as time of day, night).

But the info here has been really helpful, thank you!

I know when I have gone at rush hour to the airport, traffic on 40 coming from Cary and Raleigh looks hideous....
