I'm a big boxing fan. I'm looking for a bar/restaurant that will be showing the Mayweather - Marquez PPV boxing fight on Saturday Sept. 19th.
I just moved from DC so I don't really know anywhere that shows fights in the triangle. I would normally get together with a few friends and purchase it at home, but I haven't met any true boxing fans here who would be willing to split the fight.
Hmmm, that's about a 35-40 minute drive for me. It would be worth it if they were showing the fight, tho. They typically start the main event around 11:30 and it ends closer to 12:30am. Do they open that late on a Saturday night?
I'm sure if you have a computer, you could download a program and watch it for free... Last fight I saw I watched Manny Pacquiao destroy Oscar De La Hoya on Sopcast.
You could try the Carolina Ale House, though that's hit or miss. They carried the Mayweather/Hatton fight a year or so ago, but didn't carry any other big fights.

I've watched lots of fights on Sopcast but this is a big time PPV and sopcast tends to be small and jumpy on a computer screen. I want to get the full experience of watching it on a normal TV.
I figure since it's a Mayweather fight, it will probably be shown at a bar somewhere.
They're actually showing that fight in movie theaters. Kind of a cool idea if you don't find a bar you like.
Otherwise, call around the day of the fight to wild wing, ale house, playmakers (brick house?), woodys.
i'm looking forward to it, but not as much as pac-man/cotto. That's going to be a good one.
Yup, that fight will be a good one. I'm anxiously awaiting that one, too. I almost bought tickets and flew to Vegas to watch it, but I just started a new job and need to save money/vacation time (which is why I want to see it at a bar instead of fork out $50).

Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Champps (Southpoint) is the best place to go in the Triangle for PPV fights. I'll be there tonight along with some of my fight fan friends. They have a ton of screens and only charge $10-$15.
