I can't remember the last time I went to DD for a donut. It's all about their coffee for me. I enjoy the French Vanilla, iced or hot.
When we moved from the north about 9 years ago, there were virtually none in the area. Used to have hubby bring coffee home from N. Raleigh/Six Forks road (and that was out of his way).
DD conjures up memories of living in the north--meeting up my SAHM friends & going to the parks on the crisp fall days, or waiting in carpools & chatting with friends. Those days are gone but I still like the feeling/warmth a cup of DD brings me. It's funny, every now & then my northern friends and I send DD gift cards to each other, and "meet" on cell phones.
Looking forward to the KF & 10-10 location. Boy, is it slow going---anticipation. Drove my car through and it fits...now open up already---she typed with a 5 spot in hand and a smile!!!
I also love Krispy Kreme doughnuts and wish there was a cary location instead of going to downtown raleigh if I want a "hot now" fix!
There was one on Walnut Street near the Buck Jones intersection for a little while a few years back (back when the big KK epansion took place), but it closed.
I love the DD French Vanilla coffee also; in fact that is what I brew at home. I buy the bags at BJs. Takes Two, I had to laugh at your "car fitting" at the KDF location. They HAVE been teasing us for way too long!!
