Anyone know how much Built in Bookshelves cost to build for approx 6 ft wall? The builder is charging about 5000.
This is along a wall with no nooks or niches, so it is bumped out.
Does this sound reasonable or is it cheaper to get it done later?
I would appreciate recommendations for a carpenter.

Thanks in advance!

We just did a 3- bookshelf unit (90 inches wide total) in oak, floor to ceiling. Open shelves up, doors at the bottom. Total cost was $1800.

I had a quote of $300 per linear foot for an 80 inch tall unit. This is for paint-grade wood.

5000 is very expensive.

I even though 300/linear foot was a lot, considering we wanted to get 35 linear feet done, so I just built them myself for the material cost of about $50 per linear foot for stain-grade maple.
