Do any dental schools give free/discounted service?

There's a dental school here but they're snooty about what they offer and they're not available for emergency-type stuff, just long-term tooth projects.

Another example that the safety net in NC is full of holes. Don't come here expecting all the service you might find in other states.

I go to a great dentist where I live and my crown - after insurance paid their portion - was $300 (total cost was $800). At $1200 you either got gold (mine are porcelain) or needed some extra special accommodation.

Mine charges $1200 for porcelain over gold. After ins, we paid about $800.

It's not better elsewhere. NC is about the same as the place I left.
