I searched to see if this was discussed before; I couldn't find anything.
A friend used to refill our printer cartridges, but he doesn't do this anymore.
Can anyone recommend a place that refills them or the best place (meaning most inexpensive place) to purchase a new printer cartridge?
Muchas gracias.

There is a place in Brier Creek also called Rapid Refill? I think, it is over by the subway/gamestop/panera/wal-mart
Never used them but I saw it there the other day.

I'll add my experience - not with refills but with store branded "guaranteed to fit" replacements. I once bought a set of OfficeMax branded cartridges that were supposed to be compatible with my (then) Cannon printer, but cost less than the genuine Cannon refills. However, I couldn't even get one of the 4 the cartridges to snap into my printer (actually the first and only one of the 4 I tried inserting, so I don't know about the others). I immediately returned them to OfficeMax in exchange for the genuine cartridges. The store clerk didn't want to believe me when I said they didn't work. That was the last time I've ever tried anything other than genuine cartridges. I've never tried refills.

Its probably not an issue for you, but my experience has been poor with the longevity of the "no name" inks.
The warehouse clubs (BJs, etc.) can be a good bet for name brand cartridges in multipacks.
If you decide to mail order, monoprice.com now has a selection of toner and ink for various brands.

I get great buys on OEM toner on Ebay. I would think ink would offer similar opportunities.

There's also a Cartridge World in Durham, for anyone interested.

He dropped off a card & ad at my office the other day. Very nice gentleman! They'll even come get the cartridges, which i thought was pretty cool!

I use Rapid Refill. They are great, and inexpensive. If your printer uses more than one ink cartridge, they write down all of them for you on a card so you have them handy. They also have a purchase card where you buy - I think it's 10 - and get 1 free.

At my office, we've tried Rapid Refill, Cartridge World, and two others... sigh, I wish we would stop. The brand name ink cartridges last twice as long.
