If you are a fan of fun outdoor music festivals, a great one is this weekend in Chatham County--Shakori Hills. Shakori Hills

Also, for the young artsy hipsters among us, Artspace's LoDI project is having a "Dia de los Muertos" exhibition, kicking off tonight with an opening and the creation of a group piece: www.thelodiproject.com

I have two 3-year old boys - should I go to the Shakori Hills music festival or the Wake Forest arts festival? Something different?

I like these posts, keep em coming!

Just have one request - there are a LOT of people on here not familiar with the area, if you can post full names vs. acronyms - that would help us when we Google :-) Thanks!

I should have checked back in! I am kind of a newbie but did know enough not to bid high on the first bid. The prices start pretty low. I got outbid on my beautiful table by an antique dealer, so I suppose it was worth something. It was a lot of fun, however, and good deals to be had!

I was there too! Bought two kalim rugs! One is about 15 x 8 and I only paid $20! Not bad for a days work. Made a rookie mistake, though, and forgot to bring a book or something to do...so got REALLY bored waiting. Was amazed at how low the furniture went, then how high something seemlingly worthless, like Bob Timberlake PRINTS went for. $180 for a print??????? While a HUGE piece of real wood furniture goes for $10? I will never understand the antique industry.

Ah....I was there at the very end but noticed that the timberlake stuff went for a lot. I got that big wood carving of an old man....supposedly ecuadoran.....for $30. I'm in love with him.
