Does anyone have any experience with these apartments? Apparently they used to be called Archstone Cornerstone....

It seems like you get a lot for the money, but I won't be able to check it out before making a commitment.

Help!

I used to live in two Archstone communities, I always liked them.
You can do a search for that particular community on www.apartmentratings.com
People who actually live there will give you feedback, some really..honest..feedback.

Default Beware

BEWARE!! Look at THE APARTMENT you are going to rent. They will want to show you a model and tell you your actual apartment is not available to walk through. After moving into my apartment all was good at first. After the smell of new paint and carpet wore off in 1-2 months there was a lingering smell of cigarette smoke. Apparently the person before me smoked and the apartment has (even after 1 year) been permeated by the smell. It is even worse when the AC runs, new filters don't help, it must be in the ducts. I was all moved in and had no recourse with a 1 year lease but I'm outa here next month with a valuable lesson learned. Would I rent a house without walking through? No. Why did I ever agree to rent an apartment without walking through?

In general this is very good advice. Always be wary of a place that refuses to show you an actual unit. I work with students every year on securing apartments and the ones that always seem to cause the most grief are apartments that don't want to show you an actual unit.

I live there. So far it's been okay. It's gotten a bit expensive (our rent increased about $60 after a year and trash pickup increase from 10 to 25/mo). Location can't be beat!
