I am not ready for this brutally cold weather. I much prefer 90 degrees and humid. I do enjoy the seasons, but would prefer to glide into it, not get run over by it.
Crank up the heaters, store up on the firewood, and get out the heavier coat. Forget Autumn. Winter is about to engage the region in some possibly historic cold. Looks like the end of the week will be cold and raw, with temperatures struggling to get above 45. Frost is also likely by early next week.
OMGosh...45 degrees!! If it's above 25 it ain't cold.

-2...now we are talking COLD...
The average human would probably pick a temp of around 74F-76F as the preferred temp. One could argue successfully that anything above that is hot and anything below that is cold.
My wife grew up in Canada (15 years) and 25F is still cold to her. I grew up in NH and 25 is certainly cold to me. I'm not sure where you people are from that below freezing isn't cold. Antarctica?
Francois, is this true? I don't remember frost during the fair (only rain). (I figure Francois, keeper of data, would know for sure.)
It would be interesting to see first frost date records for our area. I can remember many times getting our first during the Fair. Go ask any native old timer of Wake county when do we usually get our first frost, and we're not talking about a hard killing frost. You'll hear during the Fair a lot.
