I am surprised how many pools have lifeguards. I did not expect that. I am fact gathering before our annual meeting that is coming up. I am trying to figure out what $50k in pool management fees pays for, when we have separate funds for everything related to actually maintaining the pool.

I am a pool board member of our private neighborhood pool. We are looking for insurance quotes but also want to make sure if our guest desire to bring in alcohol to the pool that we are covered under an alcohol Ryder to be included in our insurance policy. We also rent out the pool for private parties and consumption of alcohol is also expected from our members and guest. If you could guide me on this issue and let us know the cost of the specific policy we might be able to do business. We are in the research stage and then once I find the appropriate policy I will present it to the pool board to be voted on.

Does this get offset by a reduction in insurance? Is it a draw to potential home buyers? Is it a town regulation (Fuquay-Varina)?

It wouldn't cost a pretty penny --pool lifeguards (if that's all they do) do not make very much. At most jobs, there are additional tasks to be done other than preventing drownings /accidents, like monitoring the ph levels, vacuuming tree debris from the bottom of the pool, etc. it just depends on the pool.

This is a 9 year old thread about lifeguards. You really should start your own discussion if you want feedback about insurance and alcohol etc.
