We have company in town and A LOT of kids under 7 - and want to attend some FESTIVE events around the triangle this weekend. Has anyone been to the Weaver Street Halloween in Carrboro in year's past? Is it fun for kids as well (anything they can go to in costume is fun for mine). It is tonight and we are planning on it and hoping it isn't too scary. We were also planning to go the the Life + Science museum on Saturday for their Spooky Saturday happenings. We have done the pumpkin patch/hayride thing already. Any other ideas?

Raleigh Wide Open is this weekend and starts with a parade at 10am Saturday at (I think) the intersections of Salisbury and Morgan streets downtown. After that there are vendors, concerts, etc. Plus Marbles kids museum is down there if you got tired of the fesitval.

If it doesn't rain, I highly recommend the Harvest Fest at Spence's farm. Our 4 year old loved it. Not really a costume event, but they have pony rides, a 3D maze made out of hay bales in a barn, feed chickens, hold rabbits, hay rides, pumpkin carving, arts and crafts.
