I believe the 5pm is for the teeny ones, otherwise, the general rule is start once it "gets dark"...I remember sitting in the house willing it to get dark when I was little...and I am 50!

I have to say no one came until about 6:30 and when I left it was nearly 8 so I just turned the lights out - I was almost disappointed saw some cute kids costumes though. My fav was one poor little guy who was having a hard time getting his bag open and finally just held out his hand.

I have plenty left over, I wish I had given out more to those who showed!

They started at 5pm here in Fuquay. were still being dropped off in the neighborhood after 9PM!! It is so odd, parents driving kids into neighborhoods and following with their cars. There were 15 cars driving and blocking the roads all evening. Sorry but thats pretty stupid. We will never be here again for Halloween. Dinner and a movie next year. Other than our neighboerhood kids which we loved to see. The older agressive and disrespectful ones ruin it again and again. Easy 300 kids. Lakestone Village Fuquay.

Agree on all counts, that's pathetic and stupid and I don't blame you for not wanting to go through it again.
