I just moved to the Raleigh area and was wondering where I can find small shoes for women? I wear a size 4 1/2 Ladies (almost all department stores and shoe stores start at size 5 which is too big). Children's shoes are too narrow for me. Any info on where those hidden specialty shoe stores are located would be greatly appreciated!

I feel your pain! I am a 5.5, and even that size is becoming more and more difficult to find. A lot of stores and shoe manufacturers are now making 6 their smallest size. Unfortunately, I don't know where to find smaller sizes either. It seems like there are always plenty of "wide width" type places out there, but nothing for us of little feet!

My best friend has tiny tiny feet, and the only place that we've been able to find her some shoes is Aldo. She can wear children's shoes, but prefers to have shoes that are more "grown up". I think she's a size 4.5 also, but Aldo is in European sizing and a 35 fits her. There's only a handful of shoes that Aldo carries in a 35, but if a 35 fits you, they have a ton of shoes in basically all the styles online (www.aldoshoes.com) (broken link). There's an Aldo at Crabtree and at Southpoint. Good luck!!

Thank you for the suggestions!! I will check out Aldo & Nordstoms. I found out they are both at Southpoint mall so that's convenient. I used to buy shoes at Naturalizers in Florida but they don't have one here. I guess I could order them online but I hate trying on shoes at home and then having to ship them back if they don't fit.

If you do go online, Zappos.com is THE BEST. They have every imaginable brand, style color and size. They ship the same day or the next day, they have free shipping and if they don't fit, they have free return shipping.
I've ordered shoes from them and had them on my doorstep in 48 hours.

Zappos is good. My advice is once you find a brand that works for you you can pretty much know that shoes by them will fit you a certain way. SO once I find a brand that works for me I will order it online and 9 times out of 10 NOT have to send it back I have the opposite problem I wear an 11 in shoes which are hard to come by. BUT Nordstroms has extended sizes and smaller sizes in many styles and what they don't have in the store they have online.

Yes, I also have small feet. I still have one of my first pairs of heels from Naturalizer; however, they need to taken again to the cobbler. Main and Taylor in Columbia, SC carry size 4 to size 11 in all widths; however, their prices start at $70 and just continue to climb and climb. They are getting ready to have their Summer Clearence soon. I have ordered shoes from http://www.cinderellaofboston.com (I am pretty sure that is the correct URL -- going by memory) and had no problem.

Thanks for the link to Aldo.
