I have been to several grocery stores in the Triangle area looking for large containers of low-sodium soy sauce. I've found a few places that sell small (and expensive) bottles up to 16 oz but I'm looking for something larger and better priced. I can't believe it's so hard to find! I've gone to Lowes, Walmart, Earthfare, Southern Season, Grand Asia. All of them only have small bottles that are rather expensive. I did see a recommendation for a restaurant supply company here on the forum but looking at their website they appear to only sell equipment and not food. Is there a company in the Triangle that sells restaurant size supplies to the public? eg. food, sauces, cleaning supplies, etc.

Costco, Sam's Club, BJs-all the warehouse stores sell things in large sizes. Not sure about the size of the Soy sauce-but I am sure you could look online.

I should have mentioned that I've tried Costco. They only sell large bottles of "regular" soy sauce. I see that BJ's is offering a free one-day pass (http://www.bjs.com/join/one_day_pass.shtml - broken link) to get into their stores. I'll try them and see if they carry it.

Small little Korean/oriental grocery stores have large containers. The low sodium Kinkomen(sp?) in green bottle is very popular. Be advised that some low sodium is actually higher sodium than some regular brand soy sauce. You really have to look at the sodium content vs serving size and compare them.

Unfortunately, soy sauce is mostly salt water, so all soy sauce has lots of sodium.
Not good for people with high blood pressure.

Check S-mart in Cary. It's a fairly large Asian store (Korean mostly) but they had a fairly large selection of soy sauce when I was in there last week.

Grand Asia has the quart size bottles of low sodium soy sauce. I have yet to find a place that sells it larger than that in the Triangle.
