Has anyone dealt with any of the following:

Cigna Raleigh
United Choice Plus
Blue Card NC PPO

We are getting the same coverage on each but of course not all insurance companies are the same. In NY I had United Health a few years back and loved them. Very easy to work with. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about any of them? I also had Cigna and Blue Cross at some point but wasn't crazy about them. They could be different in NC. I'm leaning towards United Choice. Would appreciate hearing from a few people. Need to decide by tomorrow. Thanks.

Blue Cross is good and widely accepted here.

We have and have had Cigna for several years and have been happy. Good coverage, good network selection of docs, minimal or no co-pays (but that is changing of course). YMMV.

Thank you both.

Anyone know anything about United Choice?

You might want to go to www.ncqa.org, which is a rating site for health plans. They also have a copy of the U.S. News and World Reports ranking of health plans. You can search by rank and by state. Cigna did very well on both reports for customer satisfaction. Ranked slightly higher than BlueCross. United is still going through their NCQA accredidaton, which isn't a negative, just means they haven't gone through the process before . For many, I think it comes down to which network has the better doctor match. All three are in the upper echelon of choices.

I have BCBS and LOVE them. The website is really user friendly and any time I've had to call for something, they've been very helpful and polite.

Looks like all three are good and since we don't have any doctors yet, it doesn't matter which we choose. At least I don't have to worry.

Thanks again to those that responded.

I would go with BCBS. Less problems with claims processing and of course the largest network. I am a local Group Insurance Broker, so feel free to PM with any detailed questions. Glad to help.

We use Aetna. Have had no problems with them.
