I am looking to start taking some MMA/Boxing classes in the area and am curious to hear peoples thoughts.

My goal is not to become a weekend fighter, but rather get in shape, learn real boxing and MMA techniques, and maybe get in the ring and spar from time to time. I would rather not join some tincan gym that offers a kickboxing class or two, I want the real deal.

Anyone into this sport have any advice? Doesnt necessarily have to be IN Cary but thats where I would prefer.

An LA Boxing just opened up in durham near Southpoint mall. Don't know much about it but it may be worth checking out. It is in the Hope Valley Commons shopping center at the corner of Hope Valley and Hwy 54.

If you want a real MMA experience with a higher end gym setting.. Check out Rapid Fitness off of 70. It wouldn't be a bad ride from Cary. They have BJJ, Muay Thai, Boxing classes for all skill levels. They have everything you need. The classes are reasonable and so is the gym membership.
