My daughter told me this morning that she is moving with us to North Carolina!!!
I am so excited.
She is 21 years old and she has two more years of nursing school, so she realized, instead of being put on a two year waiting list in CA, she can get into nursing school fairly quick in NC. Plus she and I are best friends, and I think she realized we couldn't be apart......
So all you young "20 somthings" out there, I hope we can get you all together so she won't feel so lonely. What do you say?????
When my parents moved down, my step-father wanted to go back to school for nursing. FYI, the waiting list at Durham Tech and Wake Tech were pretty long. My step-father ended up making the drive to Johnston CCC where there wasn't a wait! It was about an hour drive from his house in Apex. Just a tip if she wants to avoid the waiting lists at these schools!

Has she been accepted anywhere yet? I hate to be the lone voice, but if she's contemplating Fall 2007 admission, she'll be disappointed. I am assuming that if she is already in nursing school (..."two more years"...), she is in a senior institution? I am not sure where she'll get into nursing school here "fairly quick", unless someone has told her that in writing. At our college (ADN), we had 53 slots and 110 applicants, majority accepted had 4.0 - 3.7 GPAs. Sorry to be the rain cloud.....

Mary;
How long is the waiting list to get into, lets say, Wake Tech nursing school??? Is it a long time? If it is a longer wait then in CA, it seems stupid for her to move here. Do you work at a college?? Or do you know someone on the waiting list??
Hey LizardLips - that's great news!! What a lucky treat. It's so sad that so many of us live away from our families, cousins, etc. It is a smart *move* of her part! LOL. Congrats!
