Up in Massachusetts, the night before Thanksgiving is a fun night to go out and see old friends, catch a band, etc. It is one of the biggest nights of the years for local pubs and bars.

Same here? If so...where do you go?

Not so much here I've found. Everybody kind of cools it around here and goes home to spend time with their families.

It's pretty dead. When I've gone out the night before, the bars are empty.

I always thought the night before Thanksgiving was the overall busiest bar night of the year, with everyone returning home for a long weekend, etc... My high school class was even arranging an informal reunion tonight.

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is the biggest bar night of the year in the north. I've found that in Raleigh and other places that have a large transplant populations that most of the bar age residents head home to see family. Miami was a ghost town last year over Thanksgiving.

It is a big night in downtown Raleigh. Crush was playing at Amra's--they always draw a big crowd.
