Council Approves Master Plan for Leesville Road Park

The Raleigh City Council on Tuesday approved the master plan for Leesville Community Park. A part of the 2000 Parks and Recreation Bond package, the 55-acre park is located across from the Leesville Road School campus and will include a branch of the Wake County Library System and future community center. The library will be included in phase 1 development and is expected to open in early 2009.
The master plan also includes a playground, two miles of paved park trails, a multi-use path system, a natural interpretive area, an outdoor classroom, open space and a heritage garden. The City Council decided to substitute a picnic shelter with open space for a proposed off-leash dog area in the final plan.

For anyone looking for a good area to live in, the Leesville road area is quite nice, and has a great community park coming. Schools are also good in this area.

Why Cary, has anyone mentioned what it is like to get into/out of Cary during work rush?

I work off Cary Parkway and live in Leesville. Drive is 12 minutes no traffic, 20 max.

I may be a bit biased since I live there but for convenience and value we cannot find a better place than Draymoor Manor Subdivision.

Location: The corner of Leesville and Westgate Roads. From Glenwood Ave/Hwy 70 to a right onto Westgate Road. Entrance to neighborhood is at Leesville Road. Form I-40 take I-540 to Leesville Road exit. Turn right, neighborhood is at the intersection of Leesville and Westgate Roads (near Strickland Road).

Good luck on your search
