I would be interested in any comments from anyone familiar with either of these communities. I have always heard good things about Del Webb but it seems that in Heritage, you actually have a decent sized lot. My sister moved into a beautiful active 55 and over community in MD and loves it. She says it is like living in a resort. My hubby's comment was that he couldn't live there as you are too close to your neighbors.

Heritage Pines is a much smaller community than Caroilina Preserve, which, in many peoples opinion, is a plus. Great location. The homes are nice, lots decent sized. It appears a much quieter community than CP.

On the other hand, Carolina Preserve is truly an active over 55 community on a grand scale. The development is Huge, as is the clubhouse (34K SF). It boasts both indoor and outdoor pools, tennis, putting greens, bocce courts etc. I know people who live there and love it. It is really a matter of what "floats your boat". Some people find CP too large and a bit overwhelming.

heritage is quieter, more laid back, more spacing and closer to everything. carolina will have a lot more to do within the community, but will be a further drive and tighter quarters.

I agree with these assessments.

And both offer very good one level living opportunities, as one might expect in a 55+ community.

Buyers that buy in Carolina Preserve are buying a "lifestyle" or so their ads say! Actually, it is true. The clubhouse and activities are amazing. They have a full time activities director.

Heritage Pines is smaller and I agree with the above posters' assessment. I'm not sure what activities are going on there.

I'd check out both and see which best suits you!

Vicki
