Sigh. . . . . I miss going out to nice restaurants with my wife for a quiet dinner. Now that we have 2 kids, we only hit places with counter service and paper napkins. I think it's time to get a baby sitter and try some of the places in this list
Both Foursquare & Second Empire are both more traditional classic dining but very very good. Not modern, but much more classy than Ruths Chris or some of the others mentioned here.

Agreed. I wouldn't call Ruth's Chris "fine dining." My rule of thumb is if they try to whisk away plates before everyone at the table has finished, it's not "fine dining."
I agree, Ruth Chris isn't "fine dining," but at least you are full when you leave. Makes it easier to pay the $$$ bill versus Heron's.
