i was cruising on down davis drive in morrisville today, thinking how smooth the road is. they recently repaved it. i got down to a crossroad near where the retail area is, not sure of the name of the other street. we were all traveling i would say around 45. then as the cars went through the intersection, they were practically getting airborne. i hit what seemed like the biggest freaking speed bump in the planet and almost hit the roof. what is with how they paved that area? it goes downhill into the intersection, then has a massive rise in the middle and then dips back down before coming back up some. talk about losing a few teeth. it looked like a bunch of planes taking off. how is the safe?

Yep, that area reeks but I have come to determine that they are waiting for all of the heavy, "real" heavy dumptrucks and so on from traversing the entire area before they give it a first-class paving job. At least there's a CVS right there where you can get relief from cracked or missing teeth.

Believe it or not, it was much worse, but I think I'd rather see the road "okay" for now and good to go when the dust settles.

It also helps to slow it down in that spot because of the doofuses who don't stop before turning right on red.

Default Crackin' me up

That is hysterical - unless YOU are the airborne vehicle!

If you are heading southbound on Davis I think you must be talking about the intersection of Carpenter/Morrisville Rd. And Oh, you are right! It is like an ongoing movie set for Dukes of Hazard!

And since I have to be stuck with the song in my head here you go!
"Just the good 'ol boys, never meanin' no harm"!

Thats it, Carpenter/Morrisville rd right near the CVS. And it WAS worse prior to getting "finished" a few weeks back.

Just dont brake TOO hard going into it. Nothing worse than seeing someone in their 2ft off the ground SUV come to a screeching halt because of a dip in the road...ugh.

Default And speaking of drug stores

That is a crazy intersection, but considering there is a CVS (and/or Walgreens and/or Rite-Aid and sometimes all three) on nearly EVERY major intersection in NW Cary it is easy to confuse the locations!

Thank GOODNESS a brand new CVS is at the next major intersection just south on Davis at High House. The Walgreens & Rite-Aids already in place there were SO terribly inconvenient! I am grateful to have SO MANY choices.

Finding a drug store in Cary is like looking for a Mormon Church in Utah - they are everywhere!

The NC DOT was supposed to close that intersection to repave and remove the bump one weekend a few weeks ago but they never did it. I assume it is just delayed for some reason. I havent seen any cars getting airborn but have seen plenty scraping bottom and making some impressive spark displays.
