How much are you looking to spend? The conference rate is $85.

There is a Motel 6 that is on Arrow Drive and not too far from Crabtree. Your best bet is to stay west of New Bern and Capital Blvd.

The microtel in Morrisville isn't in a bad area, at all. I had a client stay there and she said that it wasn't special but it was clean. She also said a lot of flight attendants and pilots were there, so it can't be too bad.

We stayed at Comfort Inn in Cary early Dec. Their nightly rate was $99 from the internet and is the weekly nightly rate- went to $69 on Friday for the weekend- which did include breakfast and had an indoor pool for after your conference days.... it was really nice and we would stay there again. It was in Cary, easy to get just about anywhere from there.

Are you refererring to the Hampton here or the Microtel? When did you stay at the Hampton last? It is not low-end in the hotel chain category and we have people that stay there a lot and I have never heard this. Just curious if your speaking of HI or Micro?

Have you tried checking TripAdvisor or other similar websites for consumer reviews?

Check priceline or hotwire for better rates. Also check betterbidding.com to get an idea of what hotel people are getting and at what price before you bid. We've had great luck with those websites. You can pick the area, but not the hotel. At least you can pick the star level you want which should keep you out of the less desirable properties.

I've never personally stayed at the Microtel in Morrisville, but I was in the area one day and noticed the hotel being SWARMED by cops and FBI agents, along with so many media vans that traffic was backed up forever, it seemed. It was related to the guy accused of murdering the pregnant marine (they had found his car in the parking lot there, while he was still on the run). Anyways, because of that, I'm not quite sure what kind of an area the hotel is in..but seeing it swarmed with cops is never good.
