Yes there is talk on the forums about that one. We do however work one at a time, and this one has the potential to drop a bit of snow in the carolina piedmont. Looking forward... How bout everyone else??

I'd love it, actually - but I'd like that to be the only one this year. Once a year is fine with me! If only it worked that way.

It would be nice to get a little snow on Christmas Eve into Christmas morning...would make for some nice ambiance!

The first year we were here (about 4yrs ago) I went out to do my grocery shopping. We are a family of 6 and at the time went through 3 gallons of milk, 3 loaves of bread, doz. and a half eggs, 2 buncches bananas...etc in a week. I got to the check-out and the cashier said "are you stocking up for the winter storm?" The prediction was for the potential for 1-2". I had a good chuckle for myself.

I'm hoping we don't have any panic set in for a "storm" this weekend. I still haven't done my grocery shopping for the week and can't go til tomorrow evening. I need our regular stock and don't want to deal with the crowds of the stockpilers!

The first week I was here, in February many years ago, I stayed at a hotel with my son. As we ate breakfast, we saw a light snow falling outside the window. "How pretty," I thought. We went about our business around town that day. The snow -- little more than a dusting -- had melted.

The next morning, I opened the newspaper at breakfast, and there was a two-page spread about the BIG STORY the day before: It snowed! The many photos included those of snowmen, people sledding, and empty shelves where bread used to be.

I had left Rochester three days earlier where it was a bonafide 5 degrees with at least a foot (maybe two) of snow on the ground.

I felt like Alice in Wonderland.

You will have snow in banner Elk!! Plenty...
We are going to Wilmington and the Beach, we might have snow, yea right, but I was in Wilmington when we did get snow once, so it can happen. With this pattern it may well be white in many parts of NC starting Saturday morning through the end of the year!!

Default Triangle under Winter Storm Watch for Friday & Saturday:

Hopefully we get a nice little snow, It will probably be a lot worse west of the Triangle towards the Triad and Mtns. It will most likely be mostly rain south and east of Raleigh.

I don't know if it will snow, but it sure is cold this morning. I am looking forward to seeing how this weather system develops tomorrow. I know a lot of snow can wreak havoc, but I always enjoy a little snow each winter season. Just in time for Christmas too.
