We had an ant problem last summer, right after we moved in. But the ants weren't touching the sugar; they were after any grease they could find! We keep a clean house but they found their way to my George Forman grill (an older model that doesn't have the removeable plates, so there's NO way you can clean underneath them). We had to throw the thing away because as I looked in the cabinet they were swarming inside of the thing and the more I tried to clean it the more can pouring out of the tiny cracks in the sides.

Did I mention they didn't touch our sugar? Or the ant traps that we put EVERYWHERE around the house? They just looked at them and laughed.

We found where they were coming in and recaulked it as tight as we could. And then we got a great pest service to come in once a quarter to keep us as ant-free as they could. Which was good, because less than a month later we had a huge fire ant hill pop up on the side of our driveway. *laugh*

Depending on where you live, I recommend Triangle Pest Control. They've been wonderful for us and have helped us combat the fire ants of this year as well. I feel like we're slowly winning the war against the ants.

Until they combine their resources and launch an all-out counter attack. But until that happens, our house is (knock on wood) pest free.

I had problems with tiny black ants but sprayed this stuff called Raze and it worked. But today I went to go mow my lawn and noticed these medium size light brown ants all over the tractor. Never seen them before. yukk. I cant take critters of any sorts. Good luck.
