Definatly find a realtor, you might go through 2 or 3 till you get one who understands what you want and can afford. Been through a few who think oh whats another 10k on a 30 year its only xxx bucks a month more. Plus the closing costs and att fees. You might find out buying is just not worth the cost and aggrivation with a new location and job. I agree with the others go rent a place for a few months first and get a feel for the new job as well as the area.
The way the economy is, job security is really a thing of the past doesn't matter if your a CEO or just a Mechanic.
Believe it or not, there some pretty decent houses for around $100k. Plenty of young professionals in the King Charles area inside the beltline in Raleigh. Check out Windsor Park, Longview Park, and Lockwood. That's my neck of the woods and I love my house. I know a great realtor specializing in this price range if you need one.
The way the economy is, job security is really a thing of the past doesn't matter if your a CEO or just a Mechanic. There's a true statement if I've ever heard one. Maybe I'm not going to be a home owner in the time frame I had hoped. Thank you everyone so much for all of your opinions, links and feedback in general.
