I know some early posters were looking for a local meat market so in case you didn't know they opened up a new meat market in Cary on Kildaire Farm Road. I bought some meat but haven't tried it yet but it looked good! They had a very nice store and a lot of people working there and answering questions. They also had a lot of marinated meat to choose from they even gave us some samples of it to take home and cook.

Saltbox Village. Kildaire Farm Rd near Cary Pkwy. Used to be a container/storage store if I remember correctly. It is called the Meat House.

Oops, opened this thread thinking I was going to read about a different kind of meat market. Never mind.

My husband and I visited earlier today - it's very nice! They have fresh meat that they will weigh and sell, but also frozen meat, already in an air-proof package for freezing and cooking later. We also got some samples to take home and cook. Looks like a place where we'll be getting our summer BBQ staples!

We got back just a little bit ago. We tried their marinated beef tips (the free sample we each got) for lunch. Good flavor. The meat had good texture. We'll be having ribeye for dinner tonight and we'll see how that tastes. They offer a lot of breads, boar's head deli meats, snacks, dips, etc. It was a nice place. We see ourselves going there for quality meats.

How were the prices compared to supermarket meat?

The lady I was speaking to said the boar's head deli meat was cheaper than what you'd find at teeter or lowe's. I don't buy deli meat often enough to know if that was true. The ribeye we bought was $19.99 a pound.
