Does anyone know when 540 will be open down to Panther Creek High School at McCrimmon Parkway?

Thanks!

A while back I had heard to 54 by the end of June and to 55 near Panther Creek by the end of the summer. They are trying to open to 54 first to releive some of the crowding on 540 at the 40 interchange. This is getting to be a trouble spot since more people are using it from the East and trying to merge onto 40 when 540 ends now.

That is the latest info that I have. Hopefully that is still the case or even better if it could open sooner.

Thank you both. I'm trying to determine drive time from North Raleigh to Panther Creek High School to see if I should accept a position there.

Depends where in N. Raleigh but right now the commute from about Falls of Neuse getting off at Aviation Parkway and continuing on Morrisville Carpenter to 55 should take about 40 minutes. It should be much shorter with 540. I would guess no more than 30 minutes.
