Just curious if anyone here knows about any New England sports bars in the Raleigh/Durham area? And if they are any good? Relocating down there the end of August, but I refuse to give up the Patriots!

You'll find plenty of sports bars that show a variety of games, but I don't know of many that specialize in just one team.
The fact of losing the Pats and the Sox (NESN) was really freaking me out. We will be moving down in July, and being "cut off" was unacceptable. So, here is what I am doing....
I am buying a slingbox (totally legal, and you can get them on amazon.com or best buy, etc for a little over $100). Here's what it does -- you need to drop it in a friends house in NE. Connect one side to Cable (or dish) and the other side to their internet router. You can then connect to the slingbox from any web connected computer and operate the remote as if you are watching just another TV in that house. The downside is to have to watch it on the computer, but it beats the BIG downside of no Pats/Sox at all.
By the way, the Pats are playing the Panthers in Charlotte (pre-season) in August. Good chance to see the crew live!
If you have any questions on the slingbox, let me know. I have done a lot of research on it.
My husband subscribes to MLB TV online and he gets the Red Sox games on his laptop. He then runs a cable from his laptop on the floor to the big screen tv and then we have all the games right on our tv in the family room. I couldn't begin to tell you how though. He's a big tech person. But it's great. He's watching the game right now as I type.
Did you guys here about the defensive end Hill. He died on a like in New Orleans in a jet skiing accident last night. They found his body this afternoon. How tragic.
I'm just curious, but what exactly is a New England sports bar? Is it a type of bar or do you mean a bar that caters to NE teams?
Because there are TONS of sports bars in the area!
Yeah, I guess some people don't want to go to bars that let other teams in or something!
We are regular at O'Dwyers in Wake Forest.....they have....25 tvs or something.....all you have to do is ask, and they will put on what ever event you want to watch.
It's a bar that caters to just New England Teams, yet plays all games. But, say, on Sunday, the big screen shows Pats, with sound, while all the smaller tv's show the other games, with no sound. And filled with Boston memorabilia and fans, as well as fans of other teams, in a friendly rivalry type of way. (clear as mud?) While in Puerto Rico we found one, started by a guy 30 years ago who moved down there from MA. It was filled with all sorts of people wearing jerseys from all different teams, watching the Pats and it was awesome! Had a great time so far from home with so many "from" home, if you know what I mean? Also found this type of bar in Naples, FL, which was cool too. That time it was Red Sox season.
OK, I've never really heard of anything like that down here. Maybe someone else knows or maybe you've just given someone an idea for a new business venture!
