I've got some used, but completely workable computer equipment and I don't have any place to put it any more. Is there a charity somewhere around here that takes used computers? (I don't want to just throw it away or to pay a "computer recycle" company to take it.)
I've got a server, an 11b wireless router, some computer speakers, a Nintendo 64 console... stuff like that. I would prefer to give it to a charity if I can.
Thanks!
I'm so glad to learn there may be some organizations to put stuff like this to use. I've been told many times by different people/shops/etc. that my stuff was 'worthless" even though it clearly worked. It's just a shame so much is wasted just because it doesn't have the latest OS.
I have several computers and printers that are in good working condition and I would like to donate them to an organization that would make good use of them. Can you recommend anyone???

Tell them:
"So my stuff is worthless to a family that doesnt have a conputer at all because they dont have money"
or...."Is it that because it doesnt command enough of a currency value that it should go to a landfill"
The United Way collects old computers and refurbishes them. My dad (who is a retired IBMer) actually volunteers there helping them sort through the various parts.
