I am curious what everyone thinks about Carolina's post season hopes and options. I don't think they'll make the NCAA but I do think that they'll make the NIT field due to their name recognition. But, this only occurs if they finish .500 or above. At this point, that's not a given.

There is nothing that says you have to be above 500 to make it to NIT. Last year 2 teams below 500 were in.

I didn't know that. I know that sub .500 teams make the NCAA field because they win their conference tourney. But, I didn't know that sub .500 teams can make the NIT field. That's interesting to know. So, since this is the case, I am almost certain that UNC will be offered a bid to the NIT if they are available. But, I am not certain that the program would accept a bid if they were sub .500.

Well...no surprise to me. Both UNC and State make the field. But, what is a surprise is that UNC gets a 4 seed and plays at home. What a load of crap.
I guess name recognition goes a long way.
State gets 2 wins in the Tourney and has a win over Duke and has to hit the road as a #6.
Before I get barraged by UNC fans indicating that UNC did beat State twice, I understand that fact. But, let's be serious, does UNC really deserve that high of a seeding? To me, it's not about State deserving more, it's about Carolina getting more than it deserves.

I didn't mention them because it wasn't local to this Forum. But, since you mentioned, they are a #1 seed.
