Irregardless Cafe on Morgan Street has lots of vegetarian options. It's a Raleigh institution. Sage Cafe in Chapel Hill is all vegetarian, I think. I'm vegetarian, not vegan, but I also like Rockford on Glenwood, Armadillo Grill on Glenwood, and Torrero's is a small local Mexican chain that actually has a pretty good vegetarian selection. Nearly every restaurant in town will have something vegetarian on the menu, even Angus Barn.

If you are vegan, you will do VERY well here.
Rosomoac, thanks for posting. As a vegan considering a move to the Raleigh area, one of my very top requirements is a vegan friendly area. I've been watching this thread, thanks for reporting back!!

Let me suggest you go to WRAL.com and look up restaurant ratings - there is a link to the local health department with the inspection scores. Being new to the area, we liked being able to look before we walked in and ran out.

Our favorite Thai restaurant is Sawasdee on Capital Blvd. They have several vegetarian dishes to choose from, and will prepare them without egg, or any other specifications you might request.

It's a longer drive but Spotted Dog in Carrboro (111. W. Main St) has many vegetarian/vegan options. I worked there for 4 years and always had a very good response from vegans to the food. Not to mention it's right next to Weaver Street Market, a great place to go in Carrboro.

Udidpi and Suchi in Cary are great Indian places with vegan entrees. Also, Dalat Vietnamese in Raleigh has several vegan dishes.
