Thanks for the link! I've been curious to see how exactly the road would wind through Holly Springs. I just wish that the SW corridor had ended at Holly Springs/Kildaire Farm Road. But NC-55 makes a lot more sense. Just selfish reasons, lol.

Dang. I knew it would happen sooner or later, but I just hoped it would be later. You can practically see me waving from my back porch as the camera zooms past my subdivision on Lake Wheeler Rd.

We knew that the plans showed it coming through there, but we thought it would be more like 15 years from now. . . . . after we retired and moved to a beach hut in Tahiti

Thanks MikeJ great information! I like the name of the group, the North Carolina Turnpike Authority. Authority always seems a step up from Department. NCTA versus NCDOT.

It will really be something when its completed. A loop not completed is just a "C" or a "G" without the horizontal line.

Gee I was hoping it would of been done by this summer when I get back into the area......guess not!

I predict that by the time they fund that project NC will have money again and it will not be a toll road.

Oh wait we have a NCTA so what the heck lets toll that sucker.

As these things go, you may well have 15 years.
Has anyone ever hit the initial opening date on a large highway project?

Good stuff. We're hoping to move a little further out in 5-8 years. It will be nice to eventually hop on 540 and still be relatively close to things.
