Has anyone ever appealed and won? i am in the same boat. We just purchased our house in september and the tax value says is 25K more than what we paid (and what the appraisal said from September). I would think the appraisal should hold some weight. i am thinking of appealing and sending in a copy of the appraisal but i was curious to know if anyone else had done the same

I was able to successfully appeal my Orange County Assessment last year with a current appraisal that was less than the re-assessed value.

In your situation, though, keep in mind that you have to address values as of the assessment date - not when you bought or had your appraisal done.
