Hello-
I've recently been accepted to Duke and need help with housing. I'm thinking either Pinnacle Ridge or Bradford Ridge to live. I know Pinnacle Ridge has a solid reputation in terms of safety, cleanliness, etc, but I've found limited info on Bradford Ridge.

Can someone please advise me on how this apt complex is? It's within walking distance of Duke so I think I would prefer it. I just want to make sure it's a good place to live.

Also, do you think one can travel to and from campus from Pinnacle by scooter?

Any help is much appreciated Thanks!

I don't know anything about Bradford Ridge (never heard of it actually), but I think you'd be able to travel to campus by scooter. The streets you'd need to take don't have heavy traffic if that's a concern.

Here is a link to the Bradford Ridge. Maybe they look familiar?

Ticon Properties [Residential Properties]

Yes I was concerned to buy a scooter and then have to travel on major highways Thanks for the info!

By looking at the map, I think those are the ones that are directly behind Chai's/Sushi Love/Nosh. I'd never heard the name of them before. If those are indeed the Bradford Ridge ones, I think they're fine. It's a very close walk to Duke (closer to the Med Center buildings, but certainly still very walkable to West Campus). It's a fairly small complex and not very scenic- it's basically surrounded by a huge parking lot and the little strip mall with the aforementioned restaurants and then some townhome type things behind it. I had a friend who lived there some years ago (2001-2002) and my husband has a friend who has been living there now for a while with no problems that I know of. The management company, Ticon, manages the apartment complex beside our neighborhood, and they're a very good company.

Great! Thanks!

I'm not looking for anything overly fancy. Coming from NYC, anything is a step up. I'm just happy to have a washer and dryer.
