The old chop house location in Cary just reopened as Tribeca Tavern, a burger joint. I was expecting the group that created the Red Room and Twisted Fork would be more inspired and original than a burger joint. Sometimes I feel like the only restaurants around are burger joints.
So I'm looking for suggestions. What are great places to eat that don't focus on burgers or wings? Quality food, originality is a plus, and if it's in the Cary/Apex area that's just gravy.
Carini's in the Cary Park Town Center on Green Level to Durham Rd. We ate there recently and although the atmosphere is shopping plaza bleh, the service was problem-free and the food was awesome. Best Italian we have in the area, IMO.
I haven't tried the Tribeca Tavern yet, but did see the menu posted on line and based on the menu I would not categorize it as a "burger joint "? Looks like they will be having brunch too...seems like a nice addition to that part of town...have yoy ate there yet?
I haven't tried Tribeca Tavern yet, but I have checked out the menu and it looks somewhat similar to Twisted Fork. I have always liked that place so I hope that is the case. All of their locations generally have good coupons too - you can even get a BOGO on their website.
Look to the ethnic joints in Cary. Super Wok is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Triangle. Udupi Cafe is an excellent veg Indian restuarant.
Surely Tribeca Tavern has an 'ethnic' connection for all the Cary Yankee's guaranteed to be a success
