I am looking to move to either Brier Creek or NW Cary. Brier Creek is more desireable for location and more expensive, but Stonewater is right at 540/55 which is nice. The drawback I have seen is there is nothing near it. The nearest shopping center is the Harris Teeter shopping center.

Anyone have any thoughts? Or live in Lennox at Brier Creek or Stonewater? I also hear that they are looking to start building that "North Hills" type shopping center.

Thanks!

Peter

Default Imho

My personal choice would be near Brier Creek. I live very close to 540/55 and yes, it is convenient to Brier Creek, Beaver Creek and Southpointe, but there is not much right here at this time.

There are already a lot of restaurants & shops at Brier Creek so if you are interested in proximity to those options it should be a fairly easy choice. I willadmit that I don't know anything about Lennox, or the actual townhomes, my choice would be based on location only.

It could be years (and YEARS) before the economy picks up enough to support construction (AND completion) of a shopping center project of that magnitude. Why wait or take the chance that it may never come to fruition? In 5- 10 years I might change my tune, but in this economic uncertainty I would not risk my investment to what "might" happen.

There is a thread on Parkside Town Commons, that may help you work through your dilemma. Good luck!

My opinion is different for varying reasons. First of all, I find Stonewater to have much more of a community feel. It is very convenient to Southpoint, 540, 147 etc. I find the townhomes here much more architecturally asthetic.

Lennox, is surrounded on all sides by a conglomeration of apartment complexes, other townhome communities - almost claustrophobic to me. I don't find the outside of the buildings/landscaping very pleasing to the eye. Of course it is in close proximity to Brier Creek shopping but the area traffic can be quite congested.

It really depends on what you're looking for. If you're younger, single, Brier Creek may be the right choice. I prefer Stonewater.

I really like the new townhomes at Weston Place in Cary. Check it out. Good builder and reasonably priced (2 car garages). Plus it is close to everything.

Thanks for all the info! I kinda like Lennox, but I agree with it being congested. Stonewater looks really nice. I'll check out Weston Place
